Martha Swan Plush

This little swan is named after Martha Graham. Martha was born in Pennsylvania in 1894. As a teenager she trained in ballet but soon decided she wanted dance to be about real human feelings. She created her very own style of dance called The Graham Technique and opened the Martha Graham Center for Contemporary Dance in 1926. Martha's technique was the beginning of Modern and Contemporary dance and is still taught around the world today.
